Key Takeaways from Our First Market Experiences.

We’re so excited to share a little behind-the-scenes look at our journey into the vibrant world of local farmer’s markets. Over the past few weekends, we packed up our handcrafted decor and cooking products, headed out to some amazing markets on Vancouver Island, and got our first taste of what it’s like to be a vendor. Spoiler alert: it’s been an incredible experience!

Here are three big takeaways that we think are key to making any market day a success:

Display is Everything

One of the first things we realized is that the way you present your products can make all the difference. Markets are filled with talented vendors and unique products, so standing out is crucial. We focused on creating a booth that felt like an extension of Warmland Kraftworkx – warm, inviting, and creative.

Using a mix of natural elements like driftwood and upcycled materials, we made sure our booth reflected the sustainable values at the heart of our brand. In addition, we quickly discovered the importance of using height and product stands to add dimension to our display. Elevating certain products, whether it’s our striking Elixrays art or jars of Oink Oil, helped draw attention and created a more dynamic and visually appealing booth. It allows customers to see your products from different angles and encourages them to explore more. A little attention to detail in the layout goes a long way in catching the eye of passersby!

 Know Your Audience

Vancouver Island has such a diverse community, and each market has its own unique vibe. We quickly learned that understanding who our audience is helps us tailor our approach. At some markets, people were most interested in our Essence cooking extracts and lard-based Oink Oil for their culinary adventures, while others gravitated towards our handcrafted driftwood pieces from the Krafted line.

Taking the time to observe and connect with the local community helped us highlight the products that would resonate best. We even adjusted our inventory and marketing pitch between markets, making sure we were offering exactly what our audience was looking for. Flexibility and listening to customer feedback are key!

Customer Interaction is Gold

One of the most rewarding parts of the market experience has been getting to meet our customers face-to-face. Whether they were longtime locals or first-time visitors, engaging with customers in real-time allowed us to share the stories behind our products. From how we source materials for our Krafted pieces to the health benefits of cooking with Oink Oil, these conversations helped build deeper connections.

Plus, it turns out people love hearing about the hands-on process of making each item by hand – something that sets us apart from mass-produced decor or cooking products. Genuine interactions not only lead to sales but also foster a loyal community around your brand.

As we continue to refine our market experience, we’re excited to take these lessons forward and grow Warmland Kraftworkx with each event. If you haven’t yet, come by and say hello at one of the upcoming markets! We’d love to meet you and share a little piece of our world.

Stay tuned for more market updates and new product launches!
